dual batterie/winch wireing

ok im doing a dual battery setup in my 86 22r truck becaues i have 4 off road lights and a 12000 lb winch so i need some more power.

1 what do i have to do to hook up the 2nd batterie for extra amps not volts right? i think i go pos to neg and neg to pos for more amps which is what i want.

2 do i just strait wire the winch to the batterie or do i have to have some kind of fuse or something?

thanks, Josh

You can get a isolation switch (try a marine store) that offers a variety of charging/using/voltage options.

Parallel Wiring multiplies the amps, keeps the voltage the same
series doubles the voltage keeps the amps the same.
