Hi just a quick question. First off I am sorry to say that I am stuck in the same year as my pickup and I unfortunatly do not have a digital camera to post any pictures so please bare with me and my spelling for that matter.

On my 89' Toyota pickup I have some sun fading going on above the rear wheels on either side. My truck is dark gray and where it has faded it is a light gray just to give you an idea of how bad it is. (note to self, need digital camera.) Just to paint another picture, when I wash my truck everything looks nice and shiny except the parts that are faded which looks dirty in a clean way. So my question is, is there an easy way of solving this problem before I take it into a autobody shop. Is there any way I can restore the classic shine with out spending a fortune?

Wish mine was grey, then you couldnt tell that it was primer showing through.

 

Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, but on my white paint, I used some NuFinish "Once a year car polish" and it took the paint from brown (what I though was white at the time) to a nice pearly white.

It may or may not help, depending on what kind of damage we are talking here.

the clean dirty you are seeing is matte finish vs glossy, its the primer showing through. My 89 is white-ish.
There are also places the paint has faded through. I think the only fix is new paint!
