What Bug Deflector to Buy?

I am wanting a bug deflector/hood guard and am wondering what the second gen guys are all using.

A wraparound style is a must, and the super big ones like the Lund Interceptor are out.

2 Models I am looking at are the Lund Avenger and Lund X-Terminator.

What type do you like/use, and specificly, how well does the mounting system work? I don't want to deal with a poor quality product.

Thanks!
Lamm

I have the lund avenger and really like it. You still have to drill the hood for mounting though. Once mounted, its pretty strong.

Is the drilling on the underside of the hood?

Yep, along the front edge about 2 inches in. I used silicone on the screws to help prevent rust.

I like the AVS version on my 3rd gen since it wraps perfectly but still allows enough room to clean behind it and you don't need to use the bumpstops.

I ended up purchasing the AVS Bugdeflector II. This is my second go around with this product. Had it on my 1996 Tacoma. Neer had any problems with that one, and I don't expect any problems with this one. It is a wrap around style and enough room to wash behind it, and to pick leaves and other things out from behind it. Nice design, sturdy mounting. Can't be happier with it.

weathertech

I have the weathertech on all 4 windows as well as the hood (bug deflector).
they make a great set, look very good. all are smoke color and fit really well to the 2nd gen. it says that you can simply use the included glue to stick the hood guard to the hood however I strongly recommend drilling the 4 holes and using the included hardware.

That's the one I have and it installs in less than 2 minutes and nothing to drill,it fits the stock mounting locations perfectly.
