Assimilated parents to the dark side!

I went with my folks on Saturday to Carmax. My father has finaly gotten tired of replacing the trans in his Jimmy. We get there and he makes a b-line for the Envoy's and Tahoe's (he is a GM guy, lord help him). So he's talking to the sales girl about a Tahoe he saw listed on the net, but it was out for a test drive. He then ask's me what others do I think they should look at. So I asked the girl if they had any Sequoia's, dad had no clue what it was (he even asked me what the heck was it). So we walk over and there is a '04 black loaded limited that just came onto the lot the night before. He is looking it up and down and Mom jumps in a wants to take a spin. The whole time we are driving around I can see my dad and his reactions. We get back to the lot and he isn't saying much (which is a good thing). He still wants to drive the Tahoe so we walk over to it. He gets in and starts it up, and starts to drive off the lot, at this point he stops puts it in park, backs up, parks, turns it off looks the sales girl in the eye and says "We'll take the Sequoia, this thing is junk. :bigclap: I almost fainted, because it is not like he hasn't driven a Tahoe before since my sister owns a Tahoe and a Yukon Denali, and he is always raving about them.

So yes the folks have been assimilated to the dark side, and are the proud new owners of a '04 Sequoia Limited w/42000. Plus they got a sweet deal $27k, their bank appraised it @ $34 when they refi'd it thru them.

Does anyone have the instructions on how to program extra Keyless entry remote FOB's? They only got one and want to get another.

You mean they left the dark side and came into the light!

Good job my son, you will be rewarded in the afterlife.

It usually only takes one drive to convert someone. Unfortunately the American crap manufacturers keep spewing out these 0% and we'll finance anyone marketing ploys. Oh well, if people aren't educated enough (in car buying) to shop around and compare the real world value of the vehicles they buy then they deserve to drive around in a Tahoe or the like. Congrats to your father, the Sequoia is a nice rig. Does anyone know if the new Sequoia will get the new 5.7 liter all aluminum V8 that is being shoe horned into the new Tundra? If so, the Sequoia is going to be a beast!

my dad bought a 2005 sequoia SR5 w/leather for 37k out the door. I would say your father got a good deal!

I love the way the sequoia rides!

Congrats!

Ha! "Sucka!"

I'm not going to lie to you guys... for comfort, I really miss an old girlfriend's Georgia Mountain Climber Yukon.. but it wasn't as convenient in the woods as my 4Runner is.

Keyless Entry

This might work, but no guarantees

1. Get in vehicle, close doors, lock all doors using switch on driver's door.
2. Turn ignition on/off seven times ending in off position
3. Press & hold LOCK button (yes I said LOCK button) until driver's door UNLOCKS
4. Lock all doors using switch on driver's door again.
5. Press & hold LOCK button on second transmitter until driver's door UNLOCKS
6. Turn ignition on/off one time
7. If it works, smile at knowing you just saved yourself $50

Good Luck
