anyone fab a 3rd gen altenator cover?

anyone fab a 3rd gen altenator cover?

went wheeling last weekend and went through some deep puddles and got mud EVERYWHERE under the hood. have any of you guys made a cover to go over the alt to keep the mud out? is it feasable?

The alternator is air cooled. It is better to kill it with mud than heat IMHO.

Mud tears stuff up, plain and simple.

got it..i dodnt mean to "seal it" just to put a raised cover on it...now sounds like a dumb idea! i just hate looking at the mud in there!

Yup heat is the alternators worst enemy. If it gets muddy, hose it off when you get back home.

be careful hosing it off...make sure it gets realllly dry!
