I have the Japan Area EPC disks (I have a Jap import Hilux Surf) and it works fine - quite useful for viewing exploded part diagrams and finding part numbers.
If you can't get the actual EPC program from Yankeetoys to work, try downloading the EPC program (not the EPC CD images) from the other link on my site - the EPC program should work with any area EPC CD's.
For some screenshots of the EPC and the alternate links see my site here:

Hey metal!
Yeah i downloaded it 2 weeks ago. Each zip file took about 10 hours, so i did them overnight. When i intalled it i had to copy all the files to the hard disk because it reports some 'hard disk too small' error. Anyway, works really well, but it is the European version. It has spec for your models but it may give a european part number for them. The exploded diagrams are good on it nad you can see which parts are common to your 4runner nad my Hilux Surf. If you want to send me you vin number i can search any parts for you!

for anyone that doesn't feel like following the links, they're on my server. Here's the information:
server: ftp.lawvision.net
user: upload
pass: upload
there are .iso files and .zip files up there, so just look for them. .iso files can be burned directly to CD, while the .zip files need to be unpacked and then burned. There is a file called install.txt that explains it all. Thanks to MikePL over at 4x4wire for providing these

The yankeetoys version only works for vehicles up to '95 I believe (maybe earlier). If you get the "not enough disk space" error, it may be the program isn't reading your available space correctly. It requires a drive (or a drive partition) that is 6GB or less. I have mine installed on my win2k machine, I used Powerquest Partition Magic to partition my drive easily.
The newer version works for '90 and newer vehicles.
I burned the A1 and A2 stuff to disk (remember to make sure the CD's are NAMED COPRRECTLY, otherwise, they won't work), but I didn't burn the install info to disk.
I ran the install program and I can use the CD's just fine.
The lawvision ftp server is fast if you have DSL/Cable, about an hour per CD.
BTW - the newer version I had no problem installing on my larger hard drive (80GB).
Hope this helps,
Todd

Hey TheLAW,
What host do you use that you claim there is only one other company using that fast of a connection? I'm interested for one of my businesses. Thanks! I'm downloading the zip files right now!

I got it downloaded and installed on three cd's, then installed on the computer, but I'm getting the following error when I try to setup the CD part:
BCSTUP14.C,GetSetupedDriveInfo,FindFirstFile,(11)( 2)(410)
GCSTUP10,stup_cd_setup,D:\TMCMSTW1,(-1)(13)(185)
GCSTUP,cmd_PF_Click,stup_main_proc/stup_set_client,(-1)(0)(0)
Anyone know what the problem is? I would love to be able to use this software!

Did you get the ZIP files or the ISO images?
If you used the ZIP files, then: Did you unzip them and create subdirectories? Did you define the labels on the CD's when you burned them?

I downloaded the zip files, then unzipped them into separate directories, burned them to the discsmaking sure to label them as specified, then opened the program with the install disc in the drive, clicked CD setup, then clicked CD setup again, clicked European Version, then clicked the dropdown and selected my CD drive, then clicked add and clicked A1 & A2, and then hit F10, and that's when I got the error.
Any ideas?

The error message is complaining that it can't create a subdirectory. I'm going to guess that "D:" is your CDROM drive?
The install notes are short on one point...
When you're telling the app about the "Catalog CD", what you're doing is telling it where to copy catalog files to from the A1 and A2 discs. So, you should:

When you're telling the app about the "Catalog CD", what you're doing is telling it where to copy catalog files to from the A1 and A2 discs. So, you should:
- Start the app (GCDROM.EXE)
- Pick "7. CD Setup"
- Pick "CD Setup"
- Under Catalog CD, check "European area version"
- (this is new) From the drop list, pick a hard drive letter that the app can write to. Do NOT pick the CD ROM drive.
- Pick ADD
- Select A1 & A2, leave "CD-ROM" checked.
- Click OK
- Click "F10: Exec" or press F10
- You should see a message that it's copying files.
