For those of you with Wet Okole seat covers, could you post pictures of yours here? I'm debating whether or not to drop the $250 on them. Also, could you include your color(s) as designated by Wet Okole? As of now I think I'd go with black/charcoal with a TRD Off Road logo, but I don't know what black/grey, black/blue, black/red, or other combinations look like, and I'm sure they're appealing.

I believe mine are black/royal, and I dig'em very much.
They have been in the rig for about one year now, and no fading.
They are really great.

It's gonna cost you double what you think.
Once you do the front, your wallet will hide as it knows you will order the rears after seeing how good the front ones look.

 

 

im looking to purchase a set for my new 03 4runner for the front but im unsure what Wet Okole would consider my seat type, can someone give them there opinion.

How are yours holding up? I know you've had them for a while now and I was wondering if the black has faded or if the tan has discolored.

 

They are doing great. I clean them about twice a summer with the Wet Okole shampoo - it does a decent job. The colors are still in good shape and the fabric is holding up well.

So, what is the deal with these things? Why would someone put them on perfect seats? I understand on a seat that has seen better days, but covering an 03 seat with a seat cover. That I do not understand.

An astute eye would tell you that this 4runner is a black 4runner. Yup, that is my former 99 which is now my brother's 99! That was a pic I took last summer w/ some Okoles that I bought from Soulav8tr (LA) for Dbui27 (SJ).

Nevertheless, you need to do the cupholder mod, Tom!

I can't speak for the newer seats, but the reason I put them on my cloth seats even though they are in great shape, it to protect them.

The Wet Oke's are waterproof.
I like to go up to where I go 4wheeling when it's hot out and jump into the river and have fun.

Getting into the rig with wet shorts on makes for a wet cloth seat.
The Oke's keep the water off the seat, and also provide much more cushsy for the tushy.

The main benefit I would think about putting them on a newer rig would be when you go to sell it.
The seats underneath would look brand new and not faded.

 

Cool, thanks for the reply. I have leather seats. I am really glad about that because the Dog hair cleans of real easy! I like your ideas about keeping the seats dry though. I may have to look into getting a set of those babies! Anyone know how bad dog hair sticks too them? They look like they may be hair magnets.

 

Two things I don't like about the covers.

1. I have a cat, and often the hair on my clothes gets transfered to the covers.
I vac the rig every two weeks, so it gets it all up.

2. I park under a big honkin' fir tree that sheds pitch, pollen, and right now granular powder like sugar.

The tree right now is in it's dry phase of pitch, and just last week it's "raining" what looks like powdered sugar onto my rig.

This gets in the duct vents, and when I turn on the heater it will blow some out and ends up on the seats.

Not much, but you can see it and it looks like someone with dandruff sat there and scrathed their head

That phase of the tree will be done soon.
Other than that, that is the only two gripes I have.

 

How about the fit? My concern with a seat cover is the left drivers thigh portion of the seat that gets smooshed when climbing in and out. Does the seat cover stay in place?

 

The fit is snug.

I still need to fix the front ones as the cover should be behind the plastic bolster on the sides and not over it.

You can't even tell these are covers when sitting on them.
They don't move around at all.

Yeah I really like the look too. Maybe I'll have to re-evaluate my mod priority list.

 

The fit is excellent. The headrest cover and seatback cover both slide on from the top, like a hat. the front and back panels then velcro together at the seam, which is hidden by the seat. The seatbutt cover lays over the seat and is tucked into the plastic paneling/molding on each side. The front and rear flaps fold under the seat. Under the seat, there are adjustable nylon straps with plastic clips/buckles things that allow you to adjust the tension. The straps hold the cover in place very securely.

 

why would i cover them, simply to portect them. When i traded in my last suv which me and my dad both owned the leather was in horrible shape. I hopeing to prolong the condition of my interior. Chris
