Question Fuel Pump Relay Question

95 4Runner 4X4 3.0 - If the fuel pump relay is bad, then the truck will not start correct? It either works or it doesn't? or can it work partially (supplying more or less fuel?) Is there an EASY way to check the fuel pressure regulator? Could the regulator cause it to run lean? Please help. Thanks, Brian

I think you could safely assume that, since a relay is just a remotely controled switch.

Have you checked out the FSM for the regulator question?

What makes you think it's running lean?

I guess you checked the fuel filter already.

I got a code 25. The filter has been replaced. Timing is correct, and all spark plugs are new. I'm checking the wires today. It seems to run for a while after clearing the code, but it always comes back after about 45 minutes of driving...and then it stays on all the time. The 02 sensor is new. It's a Bosch, not a Toyota part...the dealer told me that this could be the reason, but I don't think it is. The number 6 platinum plug was brown when I changed them out this past week. -Brian

The fuel pump part of my ECS shorted out due to a bad fuel pump, which shorted out too. When this happened, no my 90 Runner wouldn't start either.
