Hello All, I'd like to upgrade my tires and wheels to a larger size. My truck is a 1993 Ext Cab, 3.0, 4x4, 5-Speed, Bone Stock with no lift. I'd like to lift it, but that's out of the question due to an occational handicap with my knees. So my question is, what are the largest wheels and tires that I can put on this truck without having to lift the truck? I relize that higher profile tires will lift it a bit, and that's ok.

This subject has been beaten to death. Try searching a little and you'll find tons of info on this site. This has already been discussed 1000 times.

I am feeling a bit helpful, so here you go:

31x10.50, no problem.
32x10.50 (what I used to have), no problem.
32x11.50, probably need to crank the torsion bars and/or hammer the body seam at the back side of the fenders.
33x10.50, same as 32x11.50.
33x12.50, can be done, but you'll have a lot of cutting/hammering to do to fit in the front.

You forgot 35x10.5 on stock 15x7's fit with very minor trimming of pinch weld are rear of fenders

 

32's are the nicest look IMO...

 

Don't forget to regear when you upgrade tire size. Stick with 15" rims! You can get black steelies for about $50 each.
What size tires do you have now? Theres plenty of options with a 31x10.50 plus you wont have to regear. If you want bigger, then look at a 33x10.50 or 32x11.50

 

From what I've read on this, the 33 10.50 is the best deal for what you get out of it.
More clearance, on-road ride quality etc. I've heard that the 32 11.50 are a bit rough, and I'd rather have the extra inch in clearance from the 33.
Lastly, if you have a relatively new set of rear springs, these will go on no problem.

 

Many thanks I wasn't being lazy by not searching, in fact I did search on wheels because I expected to be told to do a search. Problem was the right key words to use. I found a lot of info on tires and wheels, but couldn't find a thread for Max Sized for Stock Lift. So thanks again for your input.

Now that's an awesome set up ... got a feeling those wheels are out of my budget though. I'll do a yahoo search to find out.

 

I currently have stock size wheels and tires. I believe the tires are 30x7 on 15" wheels. Thanks for bringing up the issue of regearing ... I don't want to do that. I'm sure 31x10.5 would be fine for me. I'll need to add fender flairs with these correct?

 

I'm personally buying 33x10.50 BFG MTs with a stock suspension. I might add a 1" body lift and a drivetrain lift instead of an all out suspension lift. I just can't wait to have a good set of rims/tires on my truck. Good Luck !

 

Here's a pic of mine with 32x11.50 Dueler AT's... I have a 3" body lift and cranked on the torsion bars a little.
