whomp whomp whomp and a sticky caliper?

ok....heres the deal:

When I am driving, straight or turning, I hear a sound that is similiar to a whomp whomp whompp. It is more prominent while turning though. I cannot figure out what it could be. Ive read that bad CVs, make a clicking noise. I do have 210K on the original CVs. Would there be anyway it could be a tie rod? I have changed the front drivers side, but not passenger.

Also, I have noticed that when I brake, the truck pulls to the right. It has gotten worse in the past couple of days. When I brake hard, the caliper almost locks the wheel up, so when I come to a stop, the right tire skids. Is there any solution to this? Is something not lubricated? Do i just need a new caliper?

Sorry for the long post and thanks for your adivce.

Matt-

That sounds like a bad wheel bearing to me. Jack up the suspect wheel and move the top and bottom of the wheel; see if there is play when you do that.

I don't know. I could be wrong. I am just going off the experience I had with a Celica All-trac turbo I had. Primarily when cold it would make the same type of noise you are describing here; whomp, whomp, whomp...(increased with speed). I pulled the rotor off and CV out and found a fried wheel bearing.

Again, I could be wrong. It probably wouldn't hurt to push and pull on the top and bottom of each wheel just to check.

probably not it but i got that same kinda noise in my 92 rodeo but only in reverse somehow (or maybe i didnt hear it going forward over the excessively loud whir of the fan) but it turned out to be a bent u-joint on the driveshaft

I am pretty sure its the caliper now. It only sticks when I press the brake and I can feel the car kinda dive to the right front.

Does anyone know if I need to buy 2 new calipers or can I just get the front right one? Does anyone have one for sale?
