Hey guys and girls I am buying a 89 4runner 3.0L this sunday. It has 210k brand new tranny and transfercase, clean ext and int, new radio, linex the back half inside, and over all in good condition. What are things to look out for? This 4runner is not one of the head gasket recall 3.0s. I am gonna SAS soon, but until then I plan to wheel it and have fun. With that motor what are some of the commen probs with it or standerd maint on the 4runner. I know they suck gas and some power. Thanks guys

most 3.0s are in the head gasket problem stages. but toyota only did a recall on certain years. that seems like a lot of miles on a 3.0 that was never rebuilt or anything. if it was a first gen with a 22re i would jump on that. i have a 3.0 and it drinks gas like gatoraid. but if its too clean to pass up then dont pass it up. check the frame for rust. check the floor and everything else too. along with the SAS plan on doing a 3.4 swap. when your 3.0 goes out 4000 miles down the road.
