Hey everyone,
Just put OME900 rear coils on 93 runner and the stance seems just a bit too high in the back. I've seen pics of other 2nd gens on here with OME coils and no front lift and they look sweet. As it sits there is 14" from rim to fender in the front and 15" in the rear. I don't want to compromise CV reliability, do think cranking the torsion bars a 1/2" or even 3/4" would help the stance without wearing on the CV's? From what I've read, 1" seems to be the max I could go without manual hubs but I don't have a good feel for just how hard this is on the CV's. Reliability is my main concern for now.

I think it looks pretty good the way it is. The rake isn't that noticable, at least to me.

Not too bad, but if you want a bit higer stance get a BJ spacer....wont stiffen your ride. You could probally go to 2" higher without really stressing the CV's...also hubs are pretty easy to install and save gas too...

 

Thanks for the info. I may try to crank them a bit first before putting out any more $$ for the BJ spacers. I've been keeping an eye out for hubs locally, if I find a set for a good price I'll likely spring for them.

I don't think it looks bad at all. I'm not very familiar with the ome coils. But it is very possible that they will settle a little bit over the next couple of months. FWIW, I cranked my t-bars 1.5" about 2 years ago, and now my cv's are on their way out.

I think the cv's (themselves) can handle the increased angle. It's the boots that will rip and spit all the grease out, causing the joints to wear out. If you decide to crank 'em, just check the boots often. When they tear, replace 'em ASAP! Don't be lazy like me.
