Its time to sell my toyota. I've had it forever. I've been messing with it since I was 15. I'm just no longer motivated enough to keep up with it. I just want something that I can also drive around in and drive to the trails without getting a ticket. (no tow rig anymore) Therefore, I'll trade for a 85+ K5 in good condition. No fixer uppers. I'm sure i'll forget something below. Besides what needs to be played with, toss a front locker in there and some tready meats (38" Tsls look great) and you're in business. Serious buyers only. transmission/t-case:
-th350 - Very Tight!
-new RV transmission cooler
-fresh rebuild less than 10 miles
-diesel torque converter for the lower stall
-np205 fixed yoke chevy/toyota ujoints

drivelines/axles:
-front is a square cv shaft. I twisted my first one and build this one stout
-rear shaft is pretty much a toyota stock shaft with a chevy end on it. No vibes Both shafts are solid
-all joints are recent or new
-rear axle is a toyota 8" welded with 4.10s
-rear axle is rebuilt with new brakes (small seal leak)
-front axle is a 62" waggy d44 with open diff 4.10s (needs a front seal) drive slugs used.

suspension:
-7leaf waggys up front
-toyota steering box/chevy pump/crossover with a shakerbuilt arm
-newish shocks f/r
-63" chevys with a double shackle (never given me problems)
-truck feels very long legged...very flexy
-the truck is definately not for the road but I have driven it 70mph on the highway alot and there are no wobbles. I didn't even have shocks for a while. I actually used to drive it around town alot and down the freeway before I decided it wasn't a very good idea (legalwise). Onroad, its pretty solid. But of course, its not close to street legal. I typically flat tow and it runs great up to 80mph with no deathwobble or anything like that. Comes with a towbar. If you are new and looking to get into 4wheeling this is a great rig as its already built but can be changed easily to reflect what you may be going for.

body/interior/misc:
-new front fenders undented
-no doors (got rid of them cause it gets too hot in cab)
-has bed but its got body damage
-no carpet (very barebones interior)
-B&M Megashifter
-switch/button start
-Ford Mustang bucket seats (they dry very quickly)

tires/wheels:
36x12.5x16 super swamper radials (6 in all) (will fit 40s but looks GREAT on 38s)
16x8 black crawlers (pretty new)

What it needs:
1. a motivated person to stay on top of it and in it
2. cleaning up here and there
-hanging wires
-loose tranny lines
-needs battery tie down (got a bunjee cable)
-definately a wash
-there might be a couple of things that need to be addressed. (like the battery bunjee cable) It mostly cosmetic.
3. Brakes - I bought the chevy master cylinder kit and put it all together and whatever but I couldn't get it to work so i put on the new stock one. I'm sure the chevy stuff works but needs a little persistence and assistance when bleeding.
4. there is no more grille or headlights. (they are included though)I planned on making a winch bumper and putting some round lights and hooking them up to the stock headlight plugs and run them with the stock harness. I will give up all the parts that go with this vehicle.

yeah its got a gas cap but the black part popped off. Thats why its white.

If you mean gas door, yeah. That was the second bed I put on it and the old door wouldn't come off.

Just wanted to thank you and let you know that you solved my radiator mounting problem. I have been looking for a radiator for my 4.3 conversion, but have been stumped by the mounting. Your Tru-Kool radiator from Speedway Motors solved the problem. I searched their site and found their universal mounting kit for custom radiators. Finally someone with a perfect mounting system for aftermarket radiators.

i got 2200 how is it on the freeway? i just drove down to clayton nm. to sell my 85 why would it need to be towed exactly?

 

Its OK on the freeway. This has body damage now though so there is no tail lights (they work, but are busted) i need 2500 at least. My dad lives in Springer. All you need is a receiver hitch and you're ready to tow. I wouldn't drive it on the freeway because its not really meant to do that, it would be long hard expensive and unreliable way to get it from point a to b. Not saying it couldn't do it, but this thing doesn't even have headlights or doors. Any 1/2 ton pickup can tow this truck fine.

 

steering is pretty simple. Chevy PS pump with lines going to the toy box. Pitman arm to a drag link with chevy tie rods to a single shakerbuilt arm with the tie rod in the stock position.

tru kool radiators are how to do a v8 swap for cheap. Its the cheapest aluminum radiator that you can find but the quality doesn't disappoint. My radiator is great.
Speedway has great stuff and shipping is fast.

It needs nothing to tow. Just a 1/2 ton pickup with a 2" receiver.
