mounting rear door 4 inch speakers in 3rd gen 4runner
I bought a set of speakers from best buy the other day, 6 1/2" up front and 4" as recomended by best buys computer kiosk thing in the car audio section. The fronts went in with out a problem but after trying to put in the rears I found that the factory speakers are mounted with 3 evenly spaced screws where as the aftermarket ones are mounted with 4 evenly spaced screws. I figured I would just return the rear and buy some that have 3 screw holes.
Well today I tried that only to find out that all the aftermarket 4 inch speakers have 4 screws to mount them. I asked the not-so-friendly best buy car audio kid what to do and he basically told me to make something myself to mount them.
So, I know I am not the first person to have this problem, how did you guys mount your rear door speakers? Is there some kind of 7 screw spacer/adapter deal I can buy so I can mount that to the door with 4 screws then screw my speaker into that?
