Like attention? You better...
...because you'll get it in an FJ. It's getting a little out of hand. On the way to the airport just now about every other passenger was pointing at the FJ and smiling, drivers gave thumbs up, and while stopped at a four lane intersection some guy was half out of the Titan DC passenger window pointing and yelling something at me, from the opposite side of the intersection.
I pulled up to the terminal waiting area and parked. I've never seen so many camera phones whipped out at once. More pointing and smiles. Even the usually surly cop who chases everyone away within a minute came up with a smile and wanted to talk about it. Afterward, I was the only one parked who wasn't told to leave.
My niece came out from the luggage area with her college friend. They returned from Spring Break in Mexico helping to build houses for impoverished villagers somewhere in the mountains outside of Mazatlan. Sort of Habitat For Jose. Anyone else see the irony in this? Anyway, she and her girlfriend went nuts over it, and particularly liked the FJammer system that got louder than I thought it would with no breakup and the sub rattling the mirrors.
So, it seems everyone who sees it has a favorable impression. At least that's what they tell me. I suppose a few of those smiles could have been laughs, but I don't care, this thing is a blast to drive and be seen in, even though that wasn't expected. Could FJ become a chick magnet? My niece and her friend seem to think so.

Wow, we crashed for a second.
I was replying and the site here and my homepage (same serever) did not come up.

Ha ha ha...
Man, I think I am going to have a problem keeping fingerprints and nose prints off of mine when I get it Bob.
Now you know what it feels like to be a celebrity.
A lot of them are in awe as they do not know what the beast is.
Glad to hear the sound system rock.
Will have to check into whether or not my sub can be added.
Probably have to use an amp too, but I have that on tap.
I am willing to bet that all Cartoys has to do is wire in the amp and my sub to the deck.

Most people save the price question for last. When I tell them "they start at $22,500", their mouths open in amazement. So now I start with that and watch their jaws drop for fun.

LOL again! I went the other way- told a guy the MCS was $50k. "It's supercharged, you know..." Where in Da Gorge? Hood River? Did you get your FJ from the dealer in the Dalles? (I think there's one there) We'll probably order ours from Hermiston- if I can ever sell my Rover!
Cheers,
Paul.

Heh, I'll try your way next time and justify the $80K because of the twin-turbo V-8 "like the Cayenne that costs $10K more".
I'm in the West end, near Corbett. I got mine delivered through Tonkin Toyota. Good luck with the Rover. If you need a quick sale, try eBay Motors. Expect (usually) more than wholesale, less than retail.

My friend got a taste of that, some good, some bad.
He was one of the first to own an Integra Type R (Phoenix yellow #219) when Honda widely released it with the '00 model and he couldn't leave the garage without somebody asking "is that a real Type R?" and whenever he went inside some store he always returned with a group of people around his car and he said after a while it's just gets old and you become paranoid about somebody messing with it or worse stealing it.
The FJ is getting alot of attention because nothing else looks like it but after a year or so the novelty will wear off but I know I like 'em and can't wait to see one on a trail.

I just know that soon enough one of these will be spotted with 22's and spinners stretched into a limo.
