Tach swap info for '89-'95 P/u

I have been looking for a truck for awhile, and am considering buying a truck that has the plain gauge cluster, and I was wondering what I would have to do to swap in a deluxe gauge cluster. I know in the '89-'92s that the cables are mechanical, but what if the truck is later, and it's electrical? I don't really even know what I would need to do to swap the mech. one... I just know that it is mechanical.

Any thoughts?
