OK, I've decided to rebuild the front end using the kit from arm_can on ebay, and some BJ spacers.

Seems like everyone is running BJ spacers, but nobody says where they got them. The only ones I have found so far are:

4Crawler's and SDORI's -wait aren't these the same?

Does anyone else make bj spacers for the 'runna? And who's had good or bad experiences with them?

Yeah what he said. They are all sourced from the same place (SDORI). You can't go wrong with either vendor either. I've dealt with and had great service from both. I couldn't get the link to work for purchase over at SDORI but of the other 2 TRDparts4u is cheaper but Roger will customize them (i.e. cut them down a bit) for you if you desire. I believe most people have them in as manufactured (I do), so maybe someone with more experience can chime in as to why one might want them cut down. In my case I got them quite some time ago directly from SDORI in a group buy.

OK, next question:

If you are running (or did run) BJ spacers, what shocks did you run?
Were you happy with them?

I'll be starting out with the stock torsion bars, and won't upgrade those until a heavy front bumper or engine swap forces me to... (sometime in the next 5-10 years...LOL)

 

Shocks vary. Most people run rancho or ome. There is a huge thread for the bj spacer/lc coils shock part numbers.

 

I like them, nothing but good to say of them. Shocks are Monroe Gas Magnum, they are a little bit too short... so I don´t recommend them.

 

Ha, I think those are the shocks I have on front, too... eh, I'll probably add enough washers to make it work until a few more paychecks come in. Then I'll probably do Ranchos to match my rear shocks...Oh, that, and the IFS truss...

 

I have Rancho 5167 up front 10.25 compressed and 15.25 extended. After I got those I found these on ebay and have some on the rear and they seem comparable at a much lower price.

Each ad has a link at the bottom to a spec guide where you can check lengths and mounts. I think the 787011 I linked to is close but you can check it out for your self.

if you put in BJ spacers look into manual locking hubs and/or a 4crawler diff drop. i blew out a couple CV boots after installing mine until i got both those installed.

Hey, I didn't see this post earlier! Wow, those are cheap!
Hmm, I will definately try those out. One question, when I put my Ranchos on the back, they had a smaller eyelet on the bottom end of the shock than the mounting peg... did you have the same problem with these? I didn't see any size for the eyelet listed.

No problem with mine. They bolted right up. They did have a funky 1 piece hourglass shaped bushing that was kind of hard to get in without a press or vice. I ended up using the truck frame and bottle jack and it popped right in.
