Buzzing from instrument panel

I have a buzzing noise coming from from my instrument panel, and it's not the typical speedometer cable as I have an electronic sensor. It almost sounds as if something is spinning/ticking very fast. It's directly related to my RPMs (the faster the RPMs the faster and louder the buzz/spinning), so I was thinking tachometer cable??? but I don't have one of those either.

Any ideas? I've pulled the instrument panel and have not been able to locate the source of the noise. I've thought that maybe the sound was leaking through the firewall, but can't seem to figure out where there either.

Does anyone else have this problem? Any ideas?

Thanks.

A shot in the dark...

Could it be alternator buzz being picked up by your speakers? Sometimes that can be faint enough to make it hard to locate, and will change pitch with the RPM.

Or maybe the ticking sound is a bomb! You'd be best to get that figured out right away if that's the case.

My idiotic 2 cents.
