About a year ago I purchased a 94 toyota p/u with a 22re. I suspect I now have joined the "blown headgasket " club. I have seen reference on many posts about a headgasket recall. My truck is a '94 with about 90k miles. Would it still qualify if it had not been done before? How can I check? Is there a Toyota customer service number to call? What are my chances?

Any advise?

The recall is only for the 3vze 3.0 V6

 

to my knowledge, the 4 cylinder never had a head gasket recall. if it blew the gasket, i suspect that it had been overheated at some point, as the head is aluminum and the block is iron. i'd pull the head, and have it milled before redoing the gasket.

 

Would I qualify for the "rod recall". It is a 94 4wd p/u.

 

that would be the steering relay rod recall...aka SS campaign 50n. Go to your dealer and ask
