A few people have gone with this kit:

http://offroadsolutions.com/products...conversion.htm

or you can check with Downey:

http://www.downeyoff-road.com/Chassi...ents/index.htm

and I think there is a member here that can get you the parts you need from a Tacoma: DeathCougar?

Steve has the info listed on his website:

Thanks!!!

I have looked into those options.. I also talked to death cougar and he said that he didnt have any... well that was the last time I talked to him... Because of the cost I would prefer the used " junkyard" swap... but if I have to I will go new...

thanks again!!

haha ya know, if you dont get that blue 4runner, you may have enough parts to just build your own.. that would be quite a build thread lol

bob,

are you talking about for your 3rd gen 4runner? if so, talk with jeff the marmot. he has it but all in all, he doesnt think it was worth the money. by the way, jeff is a very experienced off roader who knows his stuff. so when jeff said it wasn't worth it, i stopped looking at that kit.

Thanks for the info Bob....

The reason I am looking into doing this is to allow me to run a lockrite in the front and only lock one hub in the snow... Here in Vancouver we get 2-5 snow days a year... so its no big deal... I just dont want my wife running around town with a locker in the front, in the snow with 2 hubs locked....

I figure if I can score a good enough deal on some taco parts, and get a lockrite, I can do this for less than an ARB and compressor.... Thats where my brain currently lies....

I will Email jeff the marmot...

Thanks again Bob,
Bob

PS. msw0085... If I cant find exactly what Im looking for I may just start building... its never stoped me before! hehehehee

I would like to sugest that you look into the TrueTrac with the Manual Hubs...I have that set up and it works very well in all terrains.

this isn't a part that will be easily found on yotatech. no 4runners came stock with manual hubs, only certain tacomas. you can post a wanted ad on TTORA, but they will still be hard to come by. basically, only when tacoma owners SAS their truck will they be selling hubs.

have you tried any junk yards? www.car-part.com ?
