I know its ussually frowned upon, but I want to have air shocks on the front of my 89 2wd truck to lift it just a little for prerunner type driving. That and to fix the sag from the old torsion bars. I cant find anything online and was wondering if anyone has tried it. And if so maybe some part numbers?

 

well the sag from the old torsion bars might be able to be fixed by new hd bars. as for using air shocks id be interested how that will work since its the torsion bars that will raise and lower your front end. if you had coils then that would work as it does in the rears.

 

those 'old' torsion bars shouldnt sag that much in the front, unless you have a huge bumper/winch up there to cause the front to sag. i have the arb bull bar on mine (no winch yet) and i havent noticed any sag. i have the stock shocks and original t bars set at stock height.

tell us more about what you have in the way of mods etc, there may be other factors to consider.

Ummmmm ... couldn't you just adjust the torsion bars, give them a little crank? Air shocks might work too, but why not try the free solution first?

 

they are cranked up to the max as it is. I tried to put a set of 235 75 15 tires on there but the rub was pretty bad. Even though now im running the stock 215 75 14 tires I get a lot of rub when I "offroad" it. And I want to be able to lower it without getting under there with tools.
