moving trans to change center of gravity

I Have Some Ideas About Moving The Trans Back So That The Drive Shafts Are At Equal Lengths And To Chang The Center Of Gravity And Transfer More Wheiht To The Rear I Just Dont Know How To Go About It Was Thinking Of Using Just A Bellhousing With A Drive Shaft Coming Off The Clutch And Going To The Input Of The Trans Any Ideas Or Concerns Would Be Helpful Thanks

Only one suggestion from me... don't capitalize the first letter of every word in your post. It makes it incredibly difficult to read. As far as the transmission idea... I think the engineers at Toyota would have thought through every possible scenario. You could probably do it, but I think the gain (if any) wouldn't outweigh the hassle, time, and money it would take to do it right. But hey, that's just me, and perhaps someone with a little more fabrication experience would think differently.

Best of luck- I knew someone who put a 350 behind the drivers seat of a van with a driveshaft going through the floor to the rear axle. If you can think of it, you can do it. I don't know the benefits of moving a transmission, but then again, I'm in computers, not engineering.

with out a body lift it would be hard to move the trany back as the floor is in the way better to just divorce the t-case and equal out the d-shaft as far as gravity all the drive trian is low as possible why move it back

moving it back was more to trasfer more weight to the rear to help with traction on the rear tires

I'm thinking this is going to be WAY more work than the benifit.

To get more weight, you can buy sandbags, and put them in the bed, and would probably work better than a transmission move.

If you just want to do the swap, then i think it is possible, but i forsee a ton of problems cropping up, resulting in messed up transmissions. For example, if this shaft isn't perfect, and it breaks, could mess stuff up. I see the torque on the casings you build for this being a problem. I see drive shaft angle becoming a problem. If you have a couple to work with, to try things out on, i'd say go for it.

Would be better to just swap in something with a rear transaxle IMHO
