custom air intake for 2nd gen 22re

im either an evil genious or a complete moron, as we speak im working on a custom air intake for my 4runner. i picked up a ractive cone filter a few weeks ago for $5 and have decided to try to mount it to the 4runner. so im in the process of making the intake adapter to fit the maf (i assume thats what the sensor thats by the airbox is) ill let ya know how it works out and post pics if it does ......

(Sarcasim)Yippie Yaaa Hoo (/sarcasim) .. Save yourself the time and throw the cone filter where it belongs. THE TRASH CAN.

There have been kits on EBAY for decades now. A POS Cone filter and Adapter plate go for less than $20.00 bucks

CRAP CRAP CRAP is all I have to say. ran that setup for 6 months, then went back to stock, The cone filter SUCKS BEANS, sucks in to much heat from the engine bay, Gets wet really easy, the list goes on and on.

I took the elbow tube off and drilled another hole in the side. what a difference. still the stock box but now the resistance is less with the elbow gone and with the extra hole. It feels much better in second and third gear and its not gasping for air when low crawling.

i have a custom intake tube with a k&n fipk yes i know there like $200 bucks its staying on becuase it came with the truck...i like it sounds great

well i got a ractive not sure what filter you had but i never heard anyone have anyproblems with them all year round (newfoundland canada winters are a bitch)

i assume you mean the elbow tube in the bottom of the air filter box ... if not which one? thanks
