Paragon Park Feb 12 Pictures and Videos

Well I made it up to Paragon today... it dumped about 18 inches of snow but I pushed on and made it up there. I left around 6am and got up there around 9:30... about an hour late. The guys were started to talk smack on me since my handle is "Snoviking" but I made it. I headed out with the stock/begining group. There was a total of 4 in our convoy. There were 2 Xterras, both of which had sliders, protection, and skid plates. There was an older pathfinder which was stock besides a brush guard and alittle lift. and then there was my rig... all the goodies below.. the revos did not peform up to par today.... i aired them down to 20 psi but they didnt give me the traction i wanted... im thikning BFG ATs next..
As far as the trails went; the stock group ran only green (easy) trails... which were bumped up to blue trials hence the snow. There were acouple hairy parts coming down some steep slopes where you just held on and slide about 40 or 50 feet at a time... really scary... I could of really used some sliders and skid plates. I only rubbed 1 bottom panel on the snow but I would have felt more confident with the added protection. We had 2 stream crossings which were about 2-3 feet deep each... I was alittle hesitant becuase of A: ive never crossed a water path before. and B: I have an open air both... but I made it. I ran the whole day in 4low in either L or 2. Most of the decents I had it in L with no brakes... you slid too much with the brakes.
We went through some pretty deep mud pits and off camber snow but I only got stuck once too.... which was in the parking lot when we parked for the end of the day I parked on a down slope and when i tried to back out... it didnt want to go.... but with alitlte power.. i made it out before any videos were made of me stuck in the parking lot. all and all it was a really good day.
Things I learned on the trip:
1. I need some sliders and skid plates
2. I need better tires if Im going to be playing in the snow some more
3. I need to strap things down better so when I go over bumps they dont fly up and un organize my whole truck in .5 seconds then rattle for the next 15 mins till we stop
4. I really need to go off roading more!

I took acouple pictures and videos and added them below... hope everyone enjoys!

about an inch of ice on the front end

Problem might not be the tires - 20psi is probably too high for snow. Remember, the same "quantity" of air will read less pressure when it's cold. Try 15psi next time.

Glad you had fun!

Hey guys, I am the owner of the old Pathfinder. I didn't catch Pat on video when he was stuck, but at the end of my video you will see him spinning his tires hard trying to escape before i got my camera out.

I didn't get a chance to run with Pat...I was running in one of the modded groups (the other one left before Pat got there). It was a very fun, though kinda scary at times, day. Gotta do it again sometime soon!

Oh, and I was the one in the black Pathy with all the stuff on the roof...LOL.

Man I'm a bit late seeing this :pat:

Air those Revo's down more next time. They do work in the snow. I towed my junk there wheeled then towed home with a Ram with Revo's on it. I had now problems. I was the guy with the flat black toy.
