Anyone bought a 22RE from Sunwest Automotive

Instead of continuing to hi-jack someone else's post...here's my own. Sorry for the hi-jack "pruney81"....also, thanks to "netgodsrdn2" for finding them!

They're in Medical Lake, WA - near Spokane.

Anyway, I spoke with Bo there this afternoon, he seemed knowledgeable about 22RE's & was willing to talk.
Calling tomorrow for shipping quote cause his manager was out. Wish they were closer though!!
$1920 for what sounds like a solid short block with a port/polished rebuilt head with RV cam & new springs. He said most blocks are bored 0.020 over & cranks just polished.

engine link

I'd love to just rebuild my existing 85 block & slap on a nice engnbldr street rv head, but like I said it'd be darn near the same price with all the parts....not to mention I gotta drive at least 50 miles just to find a good machine shop. All the local shops say "metric? we caint machine in metric"

If I'm wrong in my thinking, correct me. Maybe I've just been sitting in front of this darn computer too long.

Your link wouldn't look for me. I have never heard of them but I am new (just got my 4runner 1 month ago) but I was gonna go with this company
LC Engineering
I found them because I'm from Arizona, but this weekend I saw their products on that show Xtreme 4X4 on spike tv for a toyota build up here is link to them clickey here there project is the red. Sorry if this is a hijack but I just started because the link didn't work for me and maybe this gives you more options.

thanks for the heads up on the link....try it now.

As for LCE, yeah they've got nice stuff, but a bit too rich for my blood.
I'd have to friggin shoot myself if I dropped more than 2K on this motor right away....if you saw my 85, you'd understand. But hey, I did get it for free......so the total will well exceed that eventually cause it's never enough - ya know.

whoa weird I got mine for free/trade too in fact I made $1200 in the deal. Yeah their stuff is high $$$ and I hear they do not yet offer any type of warrenty because they sell to racers/xtreme folks, but rumor has it they might soon offer warrenty for street applications. good luck on your 4runner!

fnrunner, I just noticed you created a new thread for this. I had originally posted this in the other thread...

Just wanted to follow up and add that I found them via Ebay. I've since gone back and looked and they have 100% positive feedback on Ebay. http://feedback.ebay.com/ebaymotors...serid=rebuild01
(might have to copy/paste the url)

Also in my searching they are the only one I've found to offer a warrantied performance longblock. If I am mistaken there please let me know.

Ron

I ordered a regular motor with a RV cam from Sunwest today. Should have it the middle of next week. I'll follow up and let everyone know how it is...

Are you close to them? You don't have a location listed under your name...

Well, I went with Orient & it'll be here on Monday. All said & done it should be cheaper for me since I live closer to them than Sunwest. I was looking @ $350 for total shipping both ways. & Their core was only $300...so I was about breaking even there.

Anyways, will let you all know how mine goes as well.
