anyone fire woofers facing down?

I am redesigning my set up in back. I want to make a box like this /____\ with the woofers (2 10" kicker cvr's) facing down.
I am thinking the sides should be angled like that so I can fit a pair of 6.5s in the side storage boxes without impeding the sound. Does that make sense? is it unnecessary?

also has anyone fired speakers down onto the storage boxes? if so, how did you over come vibration issues with the lids and so forth.

check out my current set up in the post yer setup thread for pics.

Thanks
Jason

I'd cut out a slot in the front of the storage boxes or even stand the box up off of the storage boxes. Slot loaded subs hammer (at least all the examples I've heard)

Yeah, I will definitely have them elevated to clear the woofer movement. I want to keep the storage boxes though so cutting them up is not an option. although I thought I might make a vent in front of them and stick an amp in there.

Thanks

you may wanna call the subs maker to see if they have any issue with the cone firing down. sometimes, you need a certain distance.

otherwise, lots of sound deadning or the panels will just go wacky.
