95 4RUNNER Gurgling sound
I just checked out some previous threads about gurgling sounds under the dash because my 95 4Runner just started to make something similar. I noticed there was some talk about not reusing hte head bolts again after replacements of gaskets. Why is this so? I just had the rear main seal replaced after a huge oil leak and I'm wondering if the mechanic did reuse the bolts unknowingly.
thanks

if he is a certified mech and reused the bolts...
it could be as simple as the cooling system hasnt been properly 'burped' to ensure all the air is out. use the search button and look for cooling system or flushing cooling sys or similar and you will have plenty of info to help find and correct your problem.

Can you just confirm that you did not have this noise before having this work done? Also please put your rig information in your sig so we can better help you out. There is alot of differences between the 3.0 and 3.4. Most AFM's(Mass AirFlow Sensor) on the 3.0 make a weird gurgling noise at idle. Mine became really noticable after doing some intake mods but was there when I was stock as well.

Don't know about your gurgling sounds, but the reason for not reusing the head bolts would be that they are torqued past their elastic range, i.e. they are permanently stretched once they are properly torqued.

I have a 93 V-6 truck...I noticed the gurgling, too. The coolant was a little low, so I topped it off and the gurgle went away. I think low coolant makes the heater core gurgle...it was especially noticeable at medium heat settings.
