Smile Liquid CO2 to cool the intake and incoming air?? Peep dis!

it's a type of thingy that goes inside/inline with the air intake and cools the air big time using LIQUID co2 which is normally -80 degrees F. Any thoughts?

This looks like a truely promising bolt on mod...

Steve

ps - where would the fuel bar go? before the injector rail?

Here is my thoughts. To little surface area to cool a sufficent amount of air in the short time it is in contact with the air. At full boost and RPM the air is going through there so fast I really doubt that there will be any real benifit. Also what ever moisture is in the air will condense and freeze as soon as it contacts the surface of that thing reducing its ability to cool what ever air it can.

One of the reasons air to air intercooler work is that they have a substantial volume increase so the velosity of the air moving through it is slowed substantially and it has time to transfer heat to the surface of the heat exchanger. As is leaves the intercooler and returns to the same diameter pipe as the entry pipe it will accelerate again to the same speed it had as it entered the intercooler.

This is all real basic fluid dynamics and I think that cooler thing will work about as good as the JET chip.

The best thing to do if your not running a super charger or a turbo is to get the coolest air into the engine that you can. I have the K&N filter kit & that helps some but it is still sucking air in from the engine by. I am planning on redesigning that setup this spring to get air from outside the engine bay.

I have descent turbo experience (see pic) & I always relied on getting air flow through the IC & getting the intake out of the engine bay. That has always worked well for me.

Dude GM is the worst thing that could have happened to Saab. That V6 they introduced was a piece of crap. The real Saab's are the OG900's down to the Strokers. Those are the real Saab's.

No offence meant by the old comment but its usually older people that think of Saab's as strange because they only know them from the 2 Stroke days.
