95 4rnr 22re spark plugs way light color

Plugs this light on an old carb engine would send up a BIG flag. Hardly any tan color and only on one side, mostly white. Is this normal for these?? The thing runs great. I don't think the mileage is where it should be, getting about 18 somtimes less. Any thoughts,, Thanks!!!!

Definitely running too lean. If the motor runs good with no check engine light, it’s probably a vacuum leak. Check all the vacuum hoses and diaphragms.

the 22R-E is a very lean running engine, you'll be fine unless you're pinging. supposedly the TCCS 22R-E engines('89-95) were leaner running than the earlier types with toyota EFI.
