Question Purpose of wiring harness going into brake fluid reservoir?

I'm wondering what the purpose of this wiring harness is? Is it the sensor for the brake light(low fluid)?

That's exactly what it's for. Your brake light that illuminates for your parking brake comes on when the brake fluid is low.

what about the wire coming out of the lid? My brake light was always on and i disconnected the wire coming out of the lid and it went away, so i was wondering if this has happened to anyone else and what it could be?
Thanks

On mine there is a little ball that floats on the fluid and I think its part of the level sensor. Maybe someone threw your ball away and that caused the brake light.
