Body mods opinions needed
So I really like the new tundra tails. What do you guys think of this? (sorry for using this picture, forgot whose it is)
Then converting the front to a 3rd gen to do something like this:
or this:
but navy like mine
thanks to all the guys who pictures I used.

I've looked into changing over to 3rd gen front end so I could get some headlights worth a hoot. Don't think it would be easy, as it looks like you'll need to use 3rd gen corners, which means 3rd gen fenders...But all this was just a quickie parked next to a 3rd gen in a parking lot. If you know someone with a 3rd gen and can take off some parts and do a more in depth investigation, and I'm wrong, let me know, as I would definitely be interested in doing this too!

Just my opinion but.. What about just doing a ARB or TJM front bumper and putting some lights on it. These bumpers with lights cover up most of the front end and then you would also get the extra lighting you want. The fenders may bolt up (but don't know) but the body lines will definetly not line up and it would take a lot of work to make this look right. I think in the end you would spend the same $ to do a off road bumper as you would to do all the body and lighting/electrical. It would be very unique though!

I prefer trial by fire, plus I have a few friends who are quite mechanically adept and could help me out if I ran into real trouble. I'm looking more for opinions on the tail lights than the front

I say if you want to learn and you are willing to live with stuff being difficult, do it. In your first post, if you were wondering how everything would look... I think the taillights would look pretty nice. It would definitely be one-of-a-kind!
Go for it.

Yea, thoes tail lights would be sooo cool but I dang, it seems like it would be so much work. It depends though. Have you taken any measurements? Is the top the only thing you would have to change or would you have to change the width and depth of the whole tail light pockett?
