2nd gen timing ticking

i just took my timing belt off while preforming other maintenance to my 4runner. when i put everything mostly back togehter and fired it up, it ran smoothly until it heated up i guess then a loud ticking came from what i would guess as being inside the head. it wasnt pinging associated with advanced timing, or 3.0 lifters, it was loud ticking. if my t-belt skipped a tooth i would imagine it running alot different. this keep on running smoothly just with ticking. any ideas out there?

well, i figured it to be the crank pulley out a tooth. when you put things back together the crank pulley will take up 1 tooth worth of slack when everything starts turning. problem fixed, i just forgot about that at the time.
