Thumbs up 4crawler.com Roger Brown Upgraded Headlight Harness

For as long as I have owned my truck it has always had dim headlights, one more so than the other. Being generally cheap I spent alot of time tracing wires and looking for why this was. Only having a very basic understanding of electronics I only knew something was wrong and there should be a better way.

Having spent hours and hours reading Roger Brown's www.4crawler.com website I was familar with his Head light upgrade harness , and thought about about creating the same for my truck. Short story shorter, finding and buying the connectors used in his kit would cost more than the kit itselft and ghettowiring it would undoubtably lead to troubles down the road ( pun intended )

Shipped in the US the kit is $44.00 and comes with everything you need. Short of Roger installing it for you, installation could not be easier and is clearly defined on his website or the instructions included.

The improvement is unbeleivable, even over properly working stock lights.
All the important details and more can be found on his website on how you really can get 80% more light out of the same bulbs.

Bottom line: dollar for dollar this is the best money I have spent on my truck for an upgrade. (and I have spent alot of dollars thus far )

Ha, like I would have the foresight to take before pictures. Or install pictures. Or after pictures.
You know what it is? I couldnt stand to get my digital camera dirty, or wash my hands every five minutes. Maybe if I get a new camera for christmas the old one can be a shop camera.

The best part about this harness is it will take 2 seconds to go back to stock and 2 more to have the harness back. If it is above 0 degrees F tonight I will do that for you.

My camera doesn't do well in low light, so I took these pix. around dusk when I installed my harness about 3-1/2 years ago. The biggest difference I noticed is that the light pattern is much more filled in with the harness connected, you can kind of see that below where the before light pattern is more of sharp area of light, while after, the bightest area is much larger and more spread out (there is a slight zoom difference between the two pictures):

Yes, the harnesses should work with most any year pickup or 4Runner (compatibility tests ate described on the web page). The H4/switched ground harness will work for the '93 pickup, either stock sealed beam headlights or if you have upgraded to an H4-style light.

I have a buddy running the H4-switched ground harness on his '94 4WD pickup, works great.
