Hi, I know that you can get a front steel bumper for a 3rd Gen. either from companies like ARB or TJM. How about for the rear bumper ? where do you guys get your rear steel bumper for your 3rd Gen (if you have one installed) ? I know that ARB and TJM don't make a rear steel bumper for the 3rd Gen. I would appreciate for your input.

Just looked at all of the sites you suggested Jimbo74 and only one of them have rear bumpers for 3rd Gens: Sonoransteel. It is my take on this that if you want a plate style (non tube) rear bumper you make it or have it made for you by Steve at Sonoran. Bamechem is making one Filthyrich made his and Brucets made one also. BruceTS is trying ot get the one he made patterned and produced through a steel shop. Just not that much to choose from on these so far. Maybe doing some searching for these guy's posts will help you out.

 

Thank you for your input. The only company that makes a rear steel bumper is Sonoran steel. The rest of the links are for 2nd Gen. The rear steel bumper that Sonoran makes is pretty skinny or narrow. I want the one that looks similar to the rear bumper of a Hummer H1 with a long and wide piece of steel plate. Maybe I should contact Steve and see what he can do. Thanks

 

Steve will not build a custom design. He has a frame section from a 3rd gen in his shop that he builds them on and it's set up for what he builds.

To do something more intricate takes serious time.

I have almost 30 hours in this one so far and i have about 10-15 more to go for the bracing and tire carrier...

take that time and figure at least $50/hr for a fab shop to build it and then add in materials....

 

Did you even look at any of those sites? Or do you just post, willy-nilly...
