Running rough after water pump assembly replaced

Seeking advice on 89 4runner 3.0 manual v6
Replaced water pump assembly, or false water pump,or fan pulley bracket as variuos sources have diffrent name for part. Took out thermostat while in there and seemed fine. Put everything back together and now truck is running rough. Truck runs fine at initial start and idle but after warming up seems to be struggling? Also looked for jiggle valve on thermostat and do not see one. Any advice?
Thanks

timming, its likly that when you took the tension off the belt it slipped a tooth (or more)

easy to check, time consumeing to fix (as you have to take it all back apart)

If it's the false water pump assembly, I don't you have to do anything to the timing belt....

I could be wrong though...
You might check your plug wires, I had to take them off when I replaced my pulley assemble.....

Depends on the fan bracket type. One type has a built in hydrolic tensioner for the belt, meaning when you take off the fan bracket you loose tension in the belt.

The other type has a spring that is not connected to the fan bracket and the likely hood the belt slipped is much less.

I took off the timming belt cover, but didn't touch the belt and it seemed plenty tight. Just came back from the garage and checked thermostat and it was fine, although not sure all three bolts were good and tight on water inlet, possible cause of problem? Getting ready to refill radiator and try it again. Also did not feel water in upper water hose when truck was running
