I know that there are other air filter threads but I want to know what kind of complete intake system I should get for my 91 3.4 swapped (almost complete)4runner. I'm not going to spend 200+ for it that's for sure! I don't have the stock one so I can't deckplate and throw in a good filter.

Anybody buy one of the cheap ones off ebay? Any suggestions for another?

 

Why don't you try to snag a stock box off ebay or post a wanted ad here and then go the deckplate route? It really is one of the most cost effective and safe performance enhancers available. I bolted a K&N cone filter on my old 98 Taco 3.4. I could feel a slight performance difference, but it threw a CEL because one of the emission lines was not hooked up. It also let way too much dust in the intake for my liking, so I went back to the deckplate.
