'95 T100 axle housing-'90 4Runner gears (4WD)

I have read mixed opinions through online searches, thought I'd ask here. Can I use gears from a '90 4Runner in an axle housing for a '95 T100.

I have the gears that I need and can get an axle housing for cheap, but can I use these gears in the T100 housing? I have read on some sites that I can....that the T100 is essentially a 8" rear end and they use the same gears as the older V6 4Runners/trucks. However, I read on another site that it is an 8" rear end, but they are not interchangable.

Does anyone know the correct answer? I have been told in the past that parts are not interchangable by Toyota, just to take the risk and find out that they are. I guess I want to be sure in an uncharted (by myself) territory.

Also, are all axle housing the same or is there a 4WD housing and a 2WD housing?

The T-100 has the "8.4" diff. The 4runner uses the 8 inch diff.

The left shows the 8.4 gears, and the right show the 8 inch gears. The 8.4 gears has 12 bolt holes, and the 8 inch gear has 10 bolt holes. Both gears are 8 inches, but people call the T-100/Tacoma/Tundra diff the 8.4 diff. The 4runner uses the V6 diff.

Here is a good web page:
