well that is where the oil has been going....

bad news...oil leak in the yota...i was under my rig this morning repositioning the exhaust and i crawled up to check on how bad my cv boot looked and noticed oil on the outside of the oil pan on the drivers side only....have ya'll had this problem? common? and what the hell could it be? it doesn't look to be too far up on the block...i will post some pics asap.,...btw it doesn't look too bad...but not good

Does it look like it's coming from the oil cooler, the round thing about the size of the oil filter located just behind the real oil filter. If so there is an O-ring behind it which seals it to the block. That O-ring gets hard from the heat and stops sealing. Good news, it's a $5 part; bad news it's a pita to replace.

BTW this is for the 3.0, if you have a 4 banger then it may not apply.
