1984 Toyota Pickup 4WD

1984 Toyota Pickup 4WD 22r. manual trans. When normal driving on the highway, the truck seems to jerk forward when accelerating. I noticed that around the transmission and the oil pan its oily. so i am thinking that the jerking is the clutch slipping maybe. if anyone has any information of why, and any repair actions that would b great. thanks

jerk as in front to back side to side?

front to back could be anything in the drivetrain.

side to side could be steering, wheel balancing, alignment.
