re-welding to the frame

Is it safe to weld to the frame twice in the same location? I want to cut off my sliders, move them, then re-weld them to the frame. Is this a good idea?

scab plate? I won't be the one doing the work, so I want to know exactly what to tell the shop to do.

Thanks.

a scab plate is basically a square or rectangular piece of metal that you weld the slider's outriggers. then you weld the sliders + scab plates to your frame

You should use scab plates IMO to begin with anyway.
