New head unit and subwoofer - 00' 4Runner

Hi all,

I'm about to begin the installation of a my brand new Pioneer Premier
DEH P960MP. I'm also installing the JL Audio Stealth Box with its 10" in sub.
I was thinking of mounting the my JL Audio 250/1 250 watts amp under the passenger seat. I already installed speakers for the front and rear doors...
Pioneer TS-A1780R & TS-A1370R respectively,... they sound great with the Toyota head unit... Can'l wait to hear them with the Pioneer.

Please provide me with any feedback that you guys may have that will make my installation a breeze....

Thanks in Advance,

00' SR5, 5spd

Good luck. You should like that deck. I have the Premier P930 from a few years ago. Great sounding deck. Pics when you get 'em!

I have a JL 250.4 under the power driver seat. No clearance issues. JL 500.1 and Boston Acoustic croosovers in the rear cargo hole. 5 farad cap and rear speaker crossovers under back seat near the jack. it all works very well

I drilled a hole near the brake pedals and ran the power line for the amp through it with a grommet, plus siliconed it in for waterproofing.

I just screwed the amp into the carpet to prevent it from moving around, I did not want to penetrate the floorboards and expose the metal to rust.

I ran the RCA cables under the center console along with the remote on line.

But the power cable to the amp is separate under the door jam, to prevent engine noise from being picked up by the signal cables.

Ran the speaker wires under the carpet edge back to the sub.

Hope that helps.

i'm pretty sure there is a fan under the passenger seat. you might have to put the amp under the drivers seat instead. worked great for me. good luck
