Guys, would this fit?-78 dodge 1/2 ton truck front axle dana 44
im fustrated with looking for a front axle for my Tundra. Im not sure if Tundras are 1-2 ton or 1 ton. Im looking on ebay for them but not sure which ones will work. i was rear ended a few weeks back and cant make a trip to pick a part. I know that i need an axle with the WMS of 64," is this correct? any info will be great, THANKS GUYS

Tundras are most closely related to 1/2 pickups so a D44 would be the right one.

Also, I think that a 78 Dodge D44 should be a passenger side drop since the Dodge D60s are passenger side too.
Chevys use passenger side D44 and D60s.
Fords are driver side drop D44 and D60s. You can get a high pinion Ford D44.
From the swaps on the teddnet.com it looks like they use driveside drop axles from a Fords or full-size Jeeps.
Edit: For full-size Jeeps (FSJ) passenger side diffs 74-79 and changed to driver side from 80-91.

This one looks like its on the drivers side.

At first glance I thought it could be a driver side too. I think it is a passenger side that is upside down.
reasons:
1. tierod mounts are cast into the steering knuckles, looking at the mounts the tierod appears below the mounts rather than above
2. the visible side of the diff housing looks like the bottom
3. I think there are more mounts on the axle tubes on the side facing down
4. I can't find any references to a pre-94 driver side Dodge 44
I don't think that Dodges started using driver side drops until the 1994 and newer Rams. If you are located in SoCal I would look for axles on pirate4x4.com or craigslist rather than eBay. More likely to find one local (at least in CA) and not pay the crazy shipping plus you may be able to check it out first.
