body lift probs...

ok... i know people are goin to say that this has already been answered but im gettin ready to order a 4crawler 1.5 in body lift but i have a WAAG grill gaurd and would love to keep it would the body lift give me problems with my grill gaurd...

iirc, the grill guard is bolted to supports under the bumper. if so, aside from the gap caused by the BL, i dont think there will be any problems.

In general, if the brush guard does not wrap over the top of the hood, you are free to raise the body, at least to the point that the brush guard starts to block the headlights. Here's a pickup w/ stock height ARB bumper and 1" 4Crawler body lift:



If the guard only attaches to the stock bumper brackets, then it may be able to raise with the front bumper relocation brackets in the kit. If the guard has it's own brackets, especially if they wrap under the frame, then those brackets would need to be modified for the lift. Usually just a matter of cutting them at some point and welding in a filler strip. Here is a Tacoma ARB front bumper brkt. modifed for a 3" body lift:





Above image shows piece tacked into place. Ultimately a gusset would be added to brace the cut off tab to the top of the bracket.

oh ok i see what i need to do now .... ill order the lift and put it on then see how it look and if it looks terrible il mod it or just hope santa delivers a ARB bumper
