Downey Double shock loops

Anyone know anything about the Downey shock loops?I Have a 87 truck with 32 x 11.5's, and am in the process of building a new bumper. I can't afford a lift and really don't need that much, but was planning to fo with beefier torsion bars up front and ran accross the loops and wonder if the could be used in conjuction with torsion bars to acheive a little more clearance and make up for the extra weight of the bumper. The add says they are to be used with longer shocks with stock ride height, what would be the benifit. Im also familiar with shorter bumpstops and swaybar disconects, is there any other cheaps tricks for the IFS setup.
Thanks for the help

If your current shocks are limiting down travel, then yes longer shocks would help (to the degree the down travel is currently being limited), Or you can just shim the curent shocks for a little more down travel. Dual shocks mainly help for high speed pre-running type driving, lets you run two softer shocks and have more oil capacity and surface are for better heat dissipation and less shock fade. I've seen folks put upwards of 12" travel shocks on the front IFS and it is sort of a waste when you can probably only use a few inches of that travel.

If you want a little more out of your IFS check out Ball Joint spacers...or commonly refered here, bj spacers.

You can get 1.5" of lift with no torsion crank. Don't do thicker bars unless your bumper is super duper heavy or you have longer A arms.

If I were you I would get BJ spacers, then if the bumper is still to heavy I would get the sway away 25mm torsions or the Old Man Emu 23.4mm torsions. TYhicker bars will hodl up that bumper, but if you go to thick you will have no suspension. I've been through it.....

check out 4crawler's website above, he sells the bj spacers.
