Brake Vibration: Pads or Rotor?

On my dad's 1999 4 runner...

When you press on the brakes at highway speed or descending a hill, there is vibration. You can feel it on the brake pedal and steering wheel? Are the pads shot and/or rotors ?

Thanks,

Jim

The rotors are warped. It is not worth getting them machined as they will do it soon again. I recommend getting some different rotors (Brembos are good search and you will find plenty of info) and make sure the rear brakes are adjusted properly

Mosi likely the rotors, but with some of the new pad composites and the possibility of contaminents on the pads it could also be that, the only for sure is to pull the wheel and inspect both.
