tried on a 38.5x14.50 Interco TSL/SX tire
I was over at a buddies house helping get a jeep ready for a road trip we changed out some tires with his manual bead breaker did some other electical stuff to it.
He had a set of well worn 38.5x14.50r15 TSL/SX tires two of them still had some tread to them about 1/4.
He also had some old 15x8 6 lug rims and he said what the hell mount one up and see how it fits.
So I did. It fits pretty good it looks like under compression it would rub but not as bad as I thought it would.
I measured the tire mounted on the truck with weight on it and it is about a true 35" tall.
So I guess a new 38.5x14.50 TSL /SX tire on a 15x8 are only in reality 36.5" tall. Kinda funny.
I am pretty sure that's going to be my next tire.
I don't think he wants more than $50 for all 4 tires.
I guess if I really wanted to I could get a hot knife and try to sipe some of the tread blocks.
Do you think it would be worth doing for a trail set of tires?

I'd try em out for $50, not much to lose. I'd be kinda wary of running real load tread stuff though, seems like a smaller tire with better tread would work better. Just to let you know when new they're a full 38.3" tall
