Fender Flare Painting

Fender Flare Painting
How much do you think it would cost to get my matte black fender flares on my '99 painted glossy black to match the rest of the rig?
I also want to get the other matte black stuff painted as well, like the top portion of the bumper, the lower valence and the liner sitting on top of the rear bumper.
Any idea how much that might cost?
Thanks guys,
Fink

Spray paint isn't going to stick to that material. Paint shops can do this for you. I had my upper lid spoiler (black plastic) painted on my 95 Civic SI when it was getting some body work done. It came out perfect.
For all 4 flares and the valence, etc, taken off the vehicle, I am willing to bet you are looking at around $350.
Why do you want to paint the black flares anyway? They look great as is, IMO. By the time you spend all this money, you could have a TJM and sell your stock front end, coming out pretty nice on the deal.

I like the look of all the body panels being glossy black, but depending on the costs of doing this I may just leave it the way it is.
Thanks for the ideas, keep em comin!

Yeah, that was my main concern and I was waiting to see if anybody would bring that up.
I guess I could pull the stock flares and get some Bushwackers instead.
Maybe if they put tons of coats on the flares they would look alright, lol.

MudMonkey, funny you should mention that...I was just talkin to my buddy who works part time a body shop and he said that he would have to have his paint guy take a look at it but he thinks a light coat of filler primer and then giving it a good sand should do the trick.
Looks like the possibility is still there...now I just gotta find that money I had, I swear it was right here just a little bit ago...hmm.

fink, somebody (a while ago) mentioned that there was a 'mothers' product that would return the black color of these and other similar plastic parts. it will not be glossy and i haven't tried it, but it sounds like it may be a cheap solution.

Thats not the problem, my stock flares are as clean as a whistle but they are turly a matte black finish, just bare plastic pretty much. I am wanting them to be painted glossy black to match the body color.

fink,
if you go the bushwacker route, im sure that there will be many people on the forum who would love to buy your existing SR5 flares. and then you can apply those funds to the bushies
edit: wildbill has the bushies on his 3rd gen
