[colorado] - June 19th - Twin Cone (fathers day)

Anna and I thinking about getting up to the Mtns this weekend (the 19th) and starting the wheeling season (for us anyway) at Twin Cone. I have never done this trail and from what I hear it has great views. And It seems it's really the only "high" trail that's open right now.

Time - to be announced but plan on meeting at the Safeway/Starbuck on 285 around 9:30 or so.

Here's some Trail info:
http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=38

and hare's a recent trip report:
http://www.colorado4x4.org/vbb/showthread.php?t=35996

Hope some of you can make it!

John

That's wierd - your rising sun calander must have just been updated - cause that trip wasn't on there a few days ago.

Oh well. I appreciate the offer but I'd rather run Twin Cone.

Jake, are you still in for Twin Cone or are you going to the Rising sun Event?

If I had my silders installed I'd be all over Spring Creek, But since I don't I was looking for an alternative any way. Count on us.

The trail leader JUST posted the trip on Rising Sun. It's a yearly event so members know about when and where any way.

Jake is doing chemo treatments, so I doubt he'll make it. Hot weather and long rides upset his tummy, we'll see.

Just talked to H. and she picked up an x-tra shift on Sun. Looks like I'm flying solo. Fathers day and all, people want the day off. She is hopeing to call in the favor to get more time off for CO4RJ.

Anna, I'll need a spotter

Ric, hope to see you there.

John, thanks.

I thought this was pretty cool - here's an arial photo of the top of twin cone peak - you can see the trail up the mountain and where it ends. If you click the "topo tab" you can see the trail marked there too. It's fun to kind of pan in and out and zoom around the area!

Mojo, I am planning on coming for sure now. My bro may just ride with me instead of bringing his jeep but I should be there either way. Look forward to meeting you.
