Need help with truck starting

Hi
Have a 1990 Toyota pickup 4X4 with the 3.slow V-6, manual transmission. When I go to start the truck by depressing the clutch nothing happens. Once I push the "Start/Cancel" switch on the dash she starts right up. What am I looking for? Thanks in advance for any help offered

im not familiar with manuals, but I would think there is a switch on the clutch pedal, like the switch on the brake pedal. Maybe the switch is bad?

Thanks
There is a switch behind the clutch pedal. Looks like a couple of bolts and a wire connection. Any ideas if this is an autozone type part or a stealership only part?
Thx again
