You know i've been having an issue with my steering in my truck, it seems it always wants to pull to the left, even after doing an alignment and wheel rotation (eliminates the possibility of radial pull). And no it's not road crown. I wonder if I have an issue that may be the result of that ball joint?

Thanks for the info.

Whoops, missed your earlier thread, I'll delete mine. At least it isn't safety related and the fix is free regardless of mileage or time in service. Work the dealer for a free 4Runner loaner, too!

Hats off to Toyota for raising the flag and taking steps to resolve it. The domestics would have swept it under the rug.

You mean it only takes 6 confirmed instances of this to make Toyota do a recall on 3/4 of a million trucks!?!? My hat is off to you Toyota...

Unlike Mitsubishi waiting for a few people to die before they recalled 1st and 2nd gen Eclipse GSXs for a fix in the transfer case to prevent a serious leak which caused the drivelines to sieze at whatever speed you were going.

I went to the stealership this morning about this recall....(toyota of dallas) and was told that they don't have the vin numbers yet of the affected trucks that they won't get these vin numbers till mid july....and that toyota will mail the owners of the recall a letter and to bring that letter in for the fix........He went on to say that the newa media is just making it a big deal? does that sound right?

Big deal?! So having the possibilty of your suspension collapse isn't a big deal? Another example of the Stealer giving you the runaround.

It is a big deal. But a bad lower ball joint can and will be felt for a year before it will break. You should be good but I wouldnt put this on the back burner of course.

Had mine done today. Called them up and gave them my info and they said you you need it, bring it on in. Dropped it off a little before 11 and got the call it was done the latter part of 2. Quick and painless. Cant complain, got a free alignment and new lower ball joints after 2 years (17,800 miles )
